The Big Picture & Your Personal Brand

I was recently working with a woman who has such great talent, a charming personality, and comes across as smart and friendly when you chat with her. She has an impressive business background and is an award-winning artist, but you would never know it. Now, I don’t mean that she needs to have a billboard around her neck telling everyone about herself, but we worked together to up her confidence level and personal brand image.

We talked about her values and priorities, how she wants to be perceived and what is and isn’t working for her right now. In looking at her website and social channels, they were fine, but not at the level you would expect for her expertise. After working together to create her 3-year goals, a mood board, craft a headline, and specific content pillars she wants to be known for, we got to work on the next level. We outlined specific to-do’s she can implement fairly quickly — more contemporary eyeglasses, tutorials for hair and makeup, a personal styling session, and most importantly personal brand photography. We are updating the imagery and copy across her different online channels and simplifying all of the places she shows up. This includes strategically placing SEO keywords to help get her to start showing up in the places she wants to be and positioning her to be ready to conquer what she is looking for next in her career.

I would love to hear your thoughts about this concept of personal branding. Is this something you feel like you have a good handle on or do you need help with it? We will be sharing more about these thoughts on The Modern Mom Collective in the coming weeks. Join us!

Talk to you soon!
